Brevard- Ash Grove RV and Camp

This past Labor Day weekend, we headed off to the NC mountains. What fabulous weather! We stayed at the Ash Grove Cabins and RV park. It is a local owned placed, run by Steve and Mark. It is a smaller place than the state parks we have camped at before.
Our first day there, we drove into Brevard. We loved it! They had a farmers market, a great downtown and then an old timey fair going on. We found great little shops that had, yup you guessed it tons of airplanes! We then headed to Hendersonville, for the NC Apple Festival. It was ok just super crowded. After that we headed to the Hendersonville Airport Museum. They had a free admission day and you know we can't pass up free and airplanes. The best part was Jason got to accomplish one of his lifetime dreams. He has always wanted to fly in a n open cockpit plane, so this time he was able to. He said "It was indescribable!".
On Sunday we drove up the Pisgha National Forrest, Blue Ridge parkway area. There is a restaurant there called Peak of the Parkway. Great food, great views, but not so great service. Afterwards we headed into Ashville. The best thing we found there was a playground and we let the kids play for the afternoon. In the evening back at our RV place we had a potluck dinner. Lots of fun too. It was nice to meet and talk to some of the fellow campers. Sara made a new friend and the twins explored every stick and rock that they possible could hold or carry.
Can't wait for our next trip:)
